RE: wot is bettah, mac or pc?
Well, games run much smoother on a Mac. However, this perk is offset by the fact that most games aren't compatible with the Mac. Hardware though [Unless you build your computers which I highly recommend, it is easy, cheap, and fun] the Mac exceeds what most game requirements recommend.

If you do want to play games get an emulator or use the new 'Bootcamp' hard-drive partition'er. I personally use Bootcamp because otherwise the Mac and the emulator would be running lowering game quality and speed.

The downside towards Bootcamp is that you have to partition your memory into two different hard-drives. Along side that, you do need to find a Windows/Linux/ect disk to install, and that can be such a pain.

In Australia, they have the funniest ads on TV advertising the Mac, with a sexy man representing the MAC and ugly man being the PC. It's so hilarious, I love it. XD
But this is also irrelevant and does not help with your debate. :)

Well actually if 'better' means consumer reports and the market of the given product then advertising does help. After all a good product sells while a piece of junk usually doesn't.

Though even this can be contradictory because of all of the ways information can travel [via email, messageboards, social networks, television, ect.] hyping a product becomes more efficient. What happens is because of the surge of information it is hard to distinguish what is 'better'. Now and these days a lot of the time [despite the availability of information] it is a 'wait and find out' type of situations.

The more ease of information flowing the harder it is to get fact and theory. The one major thing one have to decide is 'who do I trust?' We use sites that rate and review so we don't waste money on a product that is bad but, now the decision is not only 'is the product better' but also 'which views and reviews are correct?'.

Granted this doesn't always happen but the majority it usually does, so next time watch out for which information you are feeding from... It might just be poisoned from.

Quoted for TRUTH brotha. If you have the option you should go with Linux. Most people really don't though.

I own a Mac with Windows -on- it. After having to replace my Windows every 2 years (no joke) I got extremely fed up not just with the makers but with Windows itself. So I invested in this beauty for Christmas.

It's an extremely sexy laptop. There's no vents for a fan but stays relatively cool- and thus no noise from the fan. I love the backlight LCD screen and keyboard, it's really nice in general. But the important thing is how it runs-- and I'm okay with it. The best part is because I own a really old Windows XP laptop, I was able to use the old "restore Windows" cd that came with it to install Windows on Mac through a program it automatically comes with called "BootCamp". BootCamp partitions a piece of your hard drive off for another OS system. Then you can install a brand new OS on it, but you will need your Windows installer CD becauses Bill Gates needs to keep filthy rich SOMEHOW (nothing against him though, least he does good things with that mula).

I pretty much stay on the Windows side most of the time, because I feel reassured that if anything bad happens, BootCamp can eliminate the partition and I save all of my work on an external hard drive anyway.

As far as consumer reports go, they have the Mac highest listed primarily because of their standards in customer service are much higher than any maker of Windows. My biggest downsides to Mac are the price, the fact almost all repair for it must be done through the company (for instance, to replace the laptop's battery, it has to be sent back to Mac's manufacturer), and lack of program compatibility (Paint Tool SAI and lots of other Japanese programs like Vocaloid will not run on a Mac). But again, the last issue is relieved with BootCamp.

Hope that helps you some. :);;;;

Also very true, the downside of the age of information. Personally, I trust Consumer Reports, but because I don't want to pay them (I'm not a very big consumer, yessss I suck at being an American) I only sign up for a free subscription at the beginning of the year and cancel the rest. They've been historically accurate over the years and have a very good reputation of laying down the facts.
